Welcome to the Armadilla Wax Works Candle Factory

You have discovered one of those rare companies that was started on a shoe string (or candle wick) back in 1971, and is still owner-operated today. Gradually the hobby turned into a business, and making one candle at a time turned into professional hand-crafted production.

Even with the skills and techniques developed over the years, every candle receives careful attention in our manufacturing process. Each candle is poured and finished by hand and we pack everything safely so you receive your candles in perfect condition.

Beginning with a design concept, the artisans here at the candle factory collaborate on the look and develop the details. Elegant details, like those on our Tuscan Cask, are hand-sculpted by skilled craftspeople and turned into molds for the wax.

The Tuscan Cask candle is a unique design in that we pour the outer shell in a paraffin wax formula for stability, and then we fill the cavity with a soft soy wax blend. As the inner candle burns out, the shell remains intact and can be refilled with a votive candle.

The Cactus Candle collection (above, and at right) is an old favorite - we have been making these candles for over 25 years. Even though they represent a Southwest style, because they have such attention to detail, they are popular all over the country. We give them a just touch of our popular Desert Rain fragrance.

Our company is known as the “first name in floating candles” and our Unscented Waterlily (below) is wonderful for romantic settings.
