Candles light the way with sincere thanks for birthday celebrations and heartfelt companionship at somber ceremonies. Candlelight captures the moment in our memory and lasts a lifetime. Since 1971, we have always cherished the idea that our candles may become part of the special event, part of the family story. Candles are an “essential business” these days because a warm glow is calming and a comforting fragrance is essential. Whether you absolutely love Frankincense or Buttercream Vanilla, everybody loves candles.
 
Storytellers.
From cowboy poets to school teachers, Navajo storytellers to songwriters, we love to hear and see stories and imagine what it must have been like. Many times, shoppers in the candle store will share a story about the person who will be receiving the candle. Moments like these, along with listening to someone play the 100 year old grand piano in the store, make the candle shop a unique place in our community.
When we moved from Tempe to Prescott in 1984, not only did we move home and family, we moved the candle business. Friends thought we were crazy to move away from our original location in old town Tempe.

The first Prescott location was on South Montezuma Street that needed some work. It so happened that there was a fully stocked small hardware store right next door. The hardware store owner recognized that we were constantly running out of materials during construction. One day he offered us the key to his store, since he had to be out of town for the weekend. He said, “just write down what you take and we’ll settle up later.” With that simple act of trust and kindness, we knew we had moved to the right town.

Especially now, we remember and celebrate the greatest story ever told. His parables continue to teach us to be kind, honest and to love thy neighbor. Send a gift from the heart, made by hand, in Prescott Valley.
